Within my expansive body of work, I have consistently celebrated the strength and confidence of women, capturing their essence and empowering them through the art of photography.
With éhonté, I delve into a realm that has forever intrigued me: the captivating world of nude photography. This project embarks on an exploration of diverse expressions, from provocative to playful, always with an unwavering commitment to tastefulness.
éhonté, meaning ‚shameless,‘ encapsulates the essence of this journey — a celebration of unapologetic self-expression and liberation. It is a testament to embracing one‘s truest form and finding beauty in vulnerability.
This collection is deliberately heterogeneous, drawing from the rich visual language of nude photography across decades.
Each series within these pages employs its own photographic medium and aesthetic approach, allowing the technical choices to serve the conceptual vision. The diversity extends beyond style, it celebrates different bodies, different stories, different ways of being seen.
Through éhonté, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in a collection that goes beyond nudity, revealing profound beauty and empowering freedom within its pages.
This book is different from my last few releases because it doesn‘t follow a broader narrative; instead, it is a curated collection of images that functions more as a visual anthology. This was intentional, as I felt a bit burnt out after spending so much time creating the worlds of NEON and Sól.
I wanted my work to be a bit simpler but still have a creative spin. Rather than pursuing a singular aesthetic, I chose to let each series dictate its own visual language, matching medium to mood, technique to concept. The result is a book that moves through different eras and approaches of nude photography, each shot with tools and formats that honor their respective traditions while remaining distinctly contemporary.
This approach extended to casting as well. I sought to represent the actual diversity of beauty rather than adhering to a singular ideal. Different bodies, different backgrounds, different energies — all united by the same commitment to authenticity and empowerment.
The book touches on familiar archetypes within nude photography. The tropes and visual traditions that have defined the genre, but reinterprets them through my own lens. It‘s both homage and reinvention, a conversation between past and present.
