In the year 2050, our world has undergone a remarkable transformation. Smog-filled skies and polluted waters are now relics of the past, as people across the globe joined forces to combat climate change, embracing clean energy and innovative technologies. Nature thrives, megacities are no more, and a strong sense of community flourishes. People have reclaimed their freedom to explore passions, while celebrating the diversity of human bodies and sexuality. This is Sól.

The year is 2050 and the world is a very different place.
Due to a drastic shift in society, technology was used to clean the smog-filled skies and polluted waterways of the past. The air is clean again, and the oceans are teeming with life.
The transformation of our environment and society was made possible by the tireless efforts of people all over the world, who came together to address the most pressing problems facing our planet. Climate change was tackled head-on, with the implementation of clean energy sources and drastic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Pollution was also dramatically reduced through innovative technologies and policies that encouraged responsible resource use.
Nature was able to thrive once again and with it wildlife regained its strength and diversity. Many people chose to live in harmony with nature, building homes and communities in the midst of wild landscapes. Gone are the megacities of the past.
Communication and collaboration were also greatly enhanced through the use of reconfigured technology, allowing people to connect with each other and work together towards common goals no matter where they were located.
With these major challenges behind them, people were free to focus on other pursuits, curiosity and innovation flourished.
People were also able to enjoy more leisure time and the freedom to pursue their passions, whether it be traveling the world, learning new skills, or simply spending time with
loved ones.
In this world, the sense of community and connection was strong. People cared for one another and worked together to create a better future for all. There was a renewed sense of hope and optimism, as people knew that they had the power to shape their own destiny and create a world that was sustainable, equitable, and thriving.
People had come to understand and appreciate in the natural beauty of the human body. The toxic cultural norms and objectification of the past had been left behind, and people were free to express themselves and their sexuality in whatever way felt comfortable and authentic to them.
This shift was accompanied by a greater understanding and acceptance of the diversity of human bodies and a recognition that all bodies are worthy of respect and celebration.
People freely embraced their bodies and sexuality without fear of judgment or discrimination. This contributed to a greater sense of intimacy and connection within society.
Overall, this world was a place of beauty, wonder, and possibility.
This is Sól.
THE WORLD

Sól was shot in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Spain over the span of 3 years.
To make the concept of Sól become reality, I choose to shoot very sensual and emotional images with very little retouch work.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT

I began working on NEON sometime in late 2018 or early 2019. I had to pause the project when the pandemic struck but resumed once it was safe to do so. However, the experience of working on this project before and during a global pandemic made me realize that change was necessary. Years of isolation, worldwide uncertainty, inflation, the war in Ukraine – all of these factors contributed to my desire for change. I yearned to believe in a better, brighter future. That‘s when the initial concept for Sól was conceived.
This story unfolds in the same world as my previous work, but it‘s set even further into the future. It envisions how this world might appear if humanity successfully tackled significant contemporary challenges like climate change, pollution, and the promotion of body and racial acceptance. It paints a picture of a harmonious world, or in other words, a new beginning.

I decided to bring all of the graphic elements, colors and the concept of different rural areas together and created a map for the world of Sól. This foldable map was a giveaway, which is included in the book bundle and can be used as either a map or a poster.

I created different prints to showcase how nature, human shapes and graphic lines come together, living in harmony. These prints were sold through my own webshop.
THE CAMERA STRAP
Year
2023
Together with an artist called Tobias Renz, I created the concept of a Sól specific camera strap. I took care of the overall Art Direction of the strap and sourcing of materials and Tobias took care of weaving the strap. It was very important to reflect a futuristic look and feel within this strap. To achieve this, we used special a rope, which reflects light. The reflecting light was also an inspiration for the product shots I took of this strap. The idea was to create images, which made the strap look like a snake.
