„The Call“ was my debut shortfilm, shot in 2013. It was highly ambitious, because the crew consisted of four people and one of them only did the voice over. The whole movie was shot in two consecutive nights. It’s story was told through a 3 minute film and 2 viral trailers, which featured the fate of our protagonist.

Looking back at this project, I realize it didn’t age very well. The lighting was a bit too dark and the story wasn’t balanced enough. However, this project marks the foundation of my storytelling content.

Synopsis:
If you want to survive you have to work. It’s as simple as that. Not everybody’s working in the same business though. There is a whole industry nobody talks about. An industry that kills for a living. No names, no faces, just a simple call and an address. The Call follows a nameless killer through his bloody work routine.

STYLEFRAMES

The visual language of the movie is dark, gritty and documentary inspired. It was shot with a shoulder rig and a single LED light.

THE MISSING PIECE

The fate of our unnamed protagonist was left unclear, that’s where the missing pieces came into play. These short scenes are were released as viral trailers.

ANIMATIONS

I designed animations, that resemble the graphics of the game.
From its synthwave roots to the distorted conclusion of the final act.
